Agriculture & Food Sustainability Initiative

In 2023, significant United Nations funding cuts led to reduced—and in some cases completely eliminated—food distributions for refugees in the Bidi Bidi refugee settlement, leaving many families facing severe food shortages. While land has been allocated for farming, it is located nearly 10 miles from the camp and is difficult and costly for vulnerable refugees to access. Due to heavy overgrowth of tall trees and dense bushes, single mothers and widows are unable to clear the farmland on their own.

In response, Ebenezer Global Hub launched an agricultural initiative that provides a sustainable solution to this crisis—especially for single mothers and widows—by clearing farmland, supplying essential tools and seeds, and providing transportation to and from the fields. This enables refugees to grow their own food, move beyond aid dependence, and rebuild dignified, self-reliant lives.

GreenHouse Project

In response to food shortages and limited access to fresh vegetables in the Bidi Bidi Refugee Settlement, Ebenezer Global Hub established a year-round greenhouse. The greenhouse provides fresh produce for our restaurant and catering services, offers training in sustainable agriculture, and supplies vegetables at wholesale prices to local businesswomen—supporting food security, income generation, and self-sufficiency within the refugee and host communities.

Church Development & Biblical Training

Many pastors and church leaders in the Bidi Bidi Refugee Settlement have not had access to seminary training. To meet this need, Ebenezer Global Hub, in partnership with Disciple Hub, offers a Biblical Training Program that equips leaders with sound theology and practical ministry skills through a digital library of courses and resources. This program strengthens Biblical understanding, leadership, and effective service to churches and communities.

We also constructed church buildings for several of our church partners and our carpentry department produced benches that were donated to the churches for seating.
